Re: [paulexige] heating koi pond in central london [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi

I live just east of you Essex and I did not know weather to heat or not but after a bit of reading I have decided not to bother I have had ponds since I was a Kid about 20 years now and don't think I have ever lost a fish due to cold if I ever do get thick ice for a few days I melt a couple of holes with a kettle but that never happens now.

Also if the fish are active I give them a bit of food wheatgerm not the high protien stuff they seem to take what they want and are now worse for it.
